Moving to the ARM Cortex M3 with CAN-BUS for the motor controllers

I had considered using a custom Arduino with CAN-BUS ICs but found the ARM Cortex M3 includes CAN-BUS and when purchased in bulk would run for about $7 USD each, add the 30A 60V MOSFETs (RFP30N06LE) an absolute magnetic encoder and we have a controller. To validate the concepts I ordered a NXP LPC1768 http://mbed.org/handbook/mbed-NXP-LPC1768. A bit expensive at $60 USD but I am only using it for testing.
